He’ll be the first to admit it ~ it was an impulse purchase.   What was he thinking?   Skis?   For the first time at his age?   And as he suspected, Beverly had quite the time teasing him ~ until he pulled out the pair he bought for her ~ along with matching sweaters and caps!

Chester
As happens every Winter, they had gotten rather lazy.   For some reason or another they just hadn’t gotten outside to enjoy the snow like they used to.   Oh sure, they’d gone for a few short walks around town after dinner, but they hadn’t played in the snow at all this year.

Then as he was driving home the other evening, taking the long way past his beloved, and sorely missed, golf course, he saw two people skiing down the fairway.   Once he caught a glimpse of that couple, he knew it was something he and Bev should at least try.

Chester
What a magical night it was! Of course it took a few minutes to get the hang of it, but soon they were swishing across the white glistening surface.   The sky was mostly clear with only a hint of flurries sparkling in the air ~ and just enough of a breeze so that the honeyed silence was occasionally broken by the soft pfffft of snow falling from the tree branches.   They stopped on the bridge, just standing together arm in arm, looking at the full moon ringed in a rainbow of the softest light they had ever seen.

Chester

It was on their return trek to the car that Chester, full of premature confidence, had decided to go full speed down the large hill next to the 14th hole.

He never did very well on that hole in the Summer months either.

Chester is made from cream sassy long pile mini bear fabric.
His tail is tan leather cording and he measures barely 3 inches to the top of his head.
His inner ears and cheeks have been lightly tinted and his nose is a bit pink from the cold.
He is wearing brown leathery pants and a matching knitted woolen
sweater and cap that sport white snowflake buttons.
His wooden skis and poles were made by me, stained a rich walnut brown.
The skis have brown ultrasuede loops that slip over his shoes.
Threre are thread loops on his hands to help him hold the poles.
