Walter Gallagher
No. 18 in the Cobblestone Circle Series

Walter is so confused!

He can feel his blood pressure rising as he watches Henry Chickering, the new bag boy he hired last week.   The lad seemed like a capable sort, but he just now dropped a can of pineapple slices right on top of Mrs. Stevens bread!   Really!   How hard can it be to bag groceries?   Teenagers!

He quickly grabs a new loaf of bread for Irene Stevens and heads for the checkout counter.   He instructs Henry to step aside ~ and with a smile, gives him a look that unmistakably says Watch and Learn.   He feels the tension easing out of him as his attention is turned to listening to all the news from Irene.   Walter is well suited to being a shopkeeper ~ he truly enjoys his customers.   But what Walter does not know is that the reason Henry dropped the pineapple was because he was distracted by Eliza Peabody coming into the store with her mother to do their shopping.   You see, Henry has secretly got a deep crush on Eliza.

A bag boy with a bad case of puppy love . . . . Walter better take his blood pressure medication.

~ SOLD ~
June 2007

Walter is made of a grayish brown cashmere.   He measures just over 3 ¼ inches to the top of his head.   His shoes have leather straps and gold wired buckles.   Walter is a burly sort of chap with muscular arms from years of carrying heavy grocery bags for his customers.   He is wearing his favorite purple striped shirt and dark gray slacks.   He likes to roll up his sleeves when he is at work.     His shirt has a hidden velcro closure ~ the buttons are purely decorative. Walter comes with his classic grocer’s apron.   All his clothing is removeable, except for his shoes.   Walter will come to you with two printed grocery bags (made from actual grocery bags with Gallagher’s Logo printed on them) and all the groceries seen here: * 1 can each of Tomatoes, Sweet Cherries, Peas and Pineapple (wooden dowel pieces covered in aluminum tape and labels) * 1 box each of Elbow Macaroni, Graham Crackers and Tastie Oats * 1 Carton of Milk (card stock with printed labels) * and 1 loaf of French Bread (made from paperclay with a wax paper bag).
