Victor Lounsberry
No. 45 in the Cobblestone Circle Series

Oh, would you just look at it sparkling so perfectly in its little velvet box.   Victor has had his eye on the ruby necklace in Iversham’s window for months now.   His Evie would look so marvelous wearing it and he had planned to get it for her Christmas gift this year.   But with all the news of tough times for folks everywhere, they had decided to make a rather large donation to charity this year and agreed to spend no more than $25 on each other’s gift.

He was pleased that an idea had come to him quickly.   Evie is one of those women who gives so much to others ~ what with taking care of him and the children and the house and spending so many extra hours at the library arranging special programs for the children and elderly of Cobblestone Circle ~ sometimes he can see the fatigue behind her lively eyes.   What she needs is a bit of pampering.   So the first thing he bought was a jar of her favorite bubble bath from Twinkles Gift Shop ~ and what makes a relaxing soak in the tub even more enjoyable than a bottle of champagne!   His own eyes get a bit lively as he wonders if he will be invited to join her.

But he still has a little over $4 to spend and decides to pop downstairs to The Book Cellar to see if Luke or Betsy Wallace have any suggestions.   While he is waiting for them to be available to help him, he starts browsing and finds the perfect thing ~ a beautiful journal titled The Story of a Lifetime.   It was just last week after dinner that his family found themselves all together for the evening ~ talking for hours about the family history.   Evie was so pleased that the children were interested in hearing the stories about their grandparents’ childhood.   Just imagine the other tales to be recorded about their own youth and courtship ~ not to mention all those wonderful adventures yet to be lived.

Victor is made from long pile cashmere mini bear fabric that I have hand dyed a beautiful shade of soft gray.   His tail is black waxed cording and he measures just over 3 inches to the top of his head.   Victor is wearing his dark green slacks, white shirt, red vest, gray/black checked overcoat and red felt scarf.   No detail has been overlooked while assembling his couture.   Please notice the black suede trim and two seed bead buttons on each cuff of the coat as well as three larger buttons and thread (non-functioning) buttonholes down the front.   There are 2 tiny red seed bead buttons and a gold toned fob on his vest.   His scarf has been fringed on the ends and his shoes have laces.

Victor will bring the three gifts and shopping bags with him.   Each bag stands about 1½ inches tall. The journal measures 1 inch square and has an ultrasuede cover but does not open.   You may however change the title page in the silver photo frame attached on the front.   The champagne bottle is made of resin that has been painted glass green.   It has a tiny label applied and sports real gold leaf on the top.   The corked 1¼ inch tall glass vial of bubble bath (clear glass beads) is also labeled and is tied with a lovely bit of purple floss.   The handmade gift bags can hold the gifts wrapped in tiny tissue paper.   One bag is even printed with the name of the Cobblestone Circle store.   As you can see in the pictures, Victor can be posed holding the bags by the handles.
