Her mother told her it was very important to hide whenever she saw anyone else in the forest. But Ruffles felt like playing and the little girl looked so happy as she was singing and picking buttercups by the stream. Ruffles just knew they would be best friends ~ so she didn’t hide. Instead she started picking buttercups too and soon she and Brianna were having the most marvelous time together.
It was such fun to have a friend who was not from the forest. Brianna told her all about the place called Cobblestone Circle where she lived in a house and where they had places called shops. But Brianna had said the most special place was something called a library which was full of things called books. She promised to bring one of these books next time and would read the stories in it to Ruffles.
Best friends! That’s what they are alright ~ even if Brianna isn’t so good at playing hide and seek . . . .
