Luke Wallace
No. 27 in the Cobblestone Circle Series
Luke Wallace is putting the finishing touches on the display outside his store announcing today’s sale. When he and his wife Betsy bought The Book Cellar they knew it was not a tremendous money maker, but luckily they see eye to eye on
other measures of success ~ one of those being able to spend their time doing what they love ~ and they do love books! Sales have even picked up lately ~ and he wonders what is responsible for more and more people returning to bookstores. You were always able to count on good sales of children’s books ~ parents have long known the value of reading to their children. Now he sees more teens as well ~ and it’s encouraging to see them branching out from those books about the wizarding world that perhaps sparked their interest in reading. And young adults have somehow managed to turn even books into a social event. That is why he agreed when Betsy suggested they add a coffee corner at the back of the store. Speaking of which, Luke thinks it might be time for him to head inside and warm up with a cup of coffee and one of Betsy’s biscotti. While most people complain about the chill in the air at this time of year, Luke actually welcomes the cold weather.
There’s
no better way to spend a blustery Fall evening than to cuddle up by the fire with the one you love and a good book.
