Holly and Ned are the twin grandchildren of George and Maureen Taggert. They are both dressed in their warmest snow gear
~ Ned in a sky-blue fleece snowsuit with white fleece trim and matching mittens ~ Holly in her hooded pink velvet coat with the white panne trim and mittens ~ The iridescent embroidery at her waist and lower hem make her feel like a princess.
Somehow they never manage to keep their mittens
on their hands but Mother insists they ’wear’ them ever day. Good thing they come with those strings
that keeps them from getting lost.
Their sparkling ’snowman’ is actually made of painted yarn
and joint compound, with bead eyes and paperclay features.
The doodle-bug story is from personal experience with
my own children. Once you get to the fun part of
rolling those snowballs around, it’s just too hard to
stop before they get too big for a 5’3“ mom to lift. . . .
. . . . and yes, we did call them doodlebugs.
