Evelyn Lounsberry
No. 46 in the Cobblestone Circle Series

Only $25?   What was she thinking!

Yes, it was her idea that this year she and her husband Victor make a donation to charity for the holidays and spend only $25 on each other’s gift.   She had been trying to come up with an idea for his gift for days now.  There were many items he would enjoy and appreciate in that price range, but Evelyn wanted it to be something thoughtful, and dare she hope, romantic?

Then as she was at the library re-shelving biographies she got the most splendid idea!   Her eyes twinkled as she remembered the joy of last Tuesday evening as she and the children sat spellbound listening to Victor tell stories from his childhood and about his parents when they were young.   Oh ~ wouldn’t it be wonderful to give him a journal to capture all those delicious details!

But how can she make sure he will take the time to write it all down?   Their free time, like so many others’, seems to evaporate between errands and social events ~ and especially shuttling the children to and from their own activities.   No, Evelyn couldn’t expect Victor to just take the time to write in a journal.   She would have to provide a special time for him to relax and enjoy the writing.

But where could he be alone for that length of time in their full house?   Perhaps the garage would work.   No, she knows he would just end up puttering on other things in there.   Their bathroom would be perfect!   She will get some bath salts for him ~ and that should leave just enough money for a nice bottle of champagne.   And who knows ~ perhaps she will be invited to join him!   She always fancied herself a muse.

Evelyn is made from long pile cashmere mini bear fabric that I have hand dyed a beautiful shade of soft gray.   Her tail is black waxed cording and she measures barely 2¾ inches to the top of her head.  Evelyn is wearing her red Winter coat and white scarf.   No detail has been overlooked while assembling her couture.   Please notice the elegant red braid and luxurious white cashmere trim on her coat and hood.   There are 3 tiny seed beads on each cuff and a gold toned buckle at her waist.   The ends of her scarf are adorned with gold filigree findings and a red seed bead for an added touch of sparkle.   Her gold and white purse can be worn in many ways.

Evelyn will bring the three gifts and shopping bags with her.   Each bag stands about 1½ inches tall.   The journal measures 1 inch square and has an ultrasuede cover but does not open.   You may however change the title page in the silver photo frame attached on the front.   The champagne bottle is made of resin that has been painted glass green.   It has a tiny label applied and sports real gold leaf on the top.   The corked 1¼ inch tall glass vial of bath salts (glitter) is also labeled and is tied with a lovely bit of gold trim.   The handmade gift bags can hold the gifts wrapped in tiny tissue paper.   One bag is even printed with the name of the Cobblestone Circle store.   As you can see in the pictures, Evelyn can be posed holding the bags by the handles.
