Charlotte Devereaux
No. 23 in the Cobblestone Circle Series

It still fits like a glove!

Today is her wedding anniversary and each year on this day Charlotte tries on her wedding dress.   A wedding dress is of course precious to every woman, but Charlotte especially has many reasons to love hers.   You see it was made by her then husband-to-be, Henri. Sixteen years ago Charlotte crossed the ocean and moved to Paris taking a job as an apprentice in a dressmakers shop.   She was so young and ready for the adventures life had to offer her.   Little did she know that it would be the shop owner who would open her eyes to the magic of Paris ~ not an easy task on the meager living he earned as a new designer in that fashion mecca.   But looking back now, Charlotte can see that is probably what made it so wonderful ~ the discoveries of all the hidden nuances the city had to offer ~ or maybe it was because she was young and in love.   His marriage proposal did not come with a ring ~ but with this marvelous confection of a dress.   He must have spent his last franc to purchase the exquisite yardage and trims that went into it.   She still feels like his princess every time she wears it.

. . . . and they live happily ever after ~ settled in Cobblestone Circle as owners of Elegance ~ a clothing shop for women.

It will be a grand anniversary celebration tonight!

Charlotte is made of pink cashmere.   Her tail is a mauve toned cording.   She measures almost 3½ inches to the top of her head.   Her wedding dress is a delight to behold.   It is a champagne colored cotton with white roses covering the surface of the fabric.   A handmade beige ribbon rose adorned with a cluster of rose colored premium glass seed beads is at her waist.   The full flounced sleeves are accented by tiny handmade bows at her elbows ~ each with a tiny rose colored glass bead at the center.   At the neck is a bit of lace trim that has more of these beautiful glass beads stitched onto it.   A matching headpiece holds her tulle veil.   Another sumptuous bow can be found on the back.   Henri left out no detail ~ even her shoes are marvelous!
