Amy Peabody
No. 37 in the Cobblestone Circle Series

Little Amy Peabody is 2 years old.   Now to most folks that will bring to mind the phrase “terrible twos” but with Amy ~ that is absolutely not the case.   Well ~ not tonight anyway.

The Peabody family has just finished their dinner ~ the dishes are done and the family has settled in for the evening.   Daughter Eliza has shut herself in her room to study for tomorrow’s geography exam.   Father predictably has grabbed the daily paper and is seated in his favorite chair by the fire ~ and Mother is finishing up the household bills online.   Amy however is toddling about the house with a look of determination ~ she is obviously on a very important mission.

First she crawls under the kitchen table and between the chairs until she emerges with her teddy bear.   The two of them are inseparable and Amy has appropriately named him Good Friend.   Soon they are off down the hallway ~ Good Friend not minding one bit that he is being dragged by one ear.

Amy peeks under every bed until she finds her yellow blankie. Thus with a bear ear in one hand and the corner of her blanket in the other she makes her way to her bookshelf in the living room. Books are piling up on the floor as she searches through them until finally she chooses the one about mermaids.

With so much cargo, those little arms of hers are stretched to their limit but somehow she manages to get everything across the room and with a great sigh plops everything at Father’s feet.

“Well, what have we here little lady? ” he asks.   “Do you need help finding something else? ”   “Nope, I already found it! ” she exclaims while pouncing her hands on his legs. “All I need now is a lap! ”

Amy is made of silver sassy long pile mini bear fabric. Her tail is thin black leather cording and she measures just a touch over 2 inches to the top of her head, which makes her smaller than the previous Cobblestone Circle citizens. Amy is wearing her yellow gingham romper which has lace ruffles at the shoulders and two tiny yellow bows ~ one on the front and one on the back. She is also wearing an aqua bow with pearly beads by her ear. Good Friend is a result of my curiosity as to how small I could actually go. He is made from tan short pile cashmere ~ stuffed with polyester. He stands 1˝ inches tall but really prefers to sit. His limbs are string jointed and his neck contains a cotterpin joint. His eyes are onyx beads and he has an aqua bow around his neck that matches the bow by Amy’s ear.
